  • Santorum victorious in La Plata County
    Presidential hopeful Rick Santorum prevailed in La Plata County Republican caucuses Tuesday night.Participants favored him by 36 percent, with a total of 315 votes. Mitt Romney came in second with 28 percent, or 245 votes.Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich both tied with 18 percent each, 159 votes to Paul and 162 votes to Gingrich.

    Authorities on Tuesday positively identified the body of a man who was found dead last weekend near another mans abandoned vehicle.Michael DeCoteau, 29, of Wenatchee, Wash., was found stuffed into a culvert with multiple gunshot wounds, according to a news release issued Tuesday by the San Juan County N.M. Sheriffs Office.
